20 Week Update + Teriyaki Chicken Recipe

Happy Monday!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend! We spent the weekend celebrating wonderful relationships. On Friday, E and I went out to dinner, made chocolate covered strawberries, rented a movie, and just enjoyed spending time together. Where did we go to dinner you ask? Well, my husband being the very smart man he is, knew it was best to let the prego lady pick instead of trying to guess what she wanted. I'm not feeling nauseous much anymore, but there are still A LOT of foods that don't sound good. Big salads, grilled chicken, eggs, and oatmeal are my go to staples right now. He took me to my all time favorite restaurant...... Jason's Deli! You can totally make fun of me, but I love that salad bar.

Saturday morning, we headed to College Station to attend my cousin James' wedding shower. We got to catch up with a lot of people from our home town we don't get to see all that often. It was great! Sunday, we ran some errands in College Station, ate at Jason's Deli again (E deserves Saint Hood), and then headed home to Austin for grocery shopping and laundry.

It's time for another Baby G update! I can't believe we are already half way there. Every day, I get a little more anxious to meet our little girl

Baby G Stats
How Far Along: 20 weeks (5 months in normal people speak)

Size of Baby G: Baby G is about the size of a banana this week. She is long and skinny just like her daddy!

Movement: Yes! We have movement people. I was lying in bed the other night, and all of the sudden I could feel little wiggles happening. Of course, it was at about 11 PM at night, also just like her dad. :) Since, then I feel her a couple of times a day. It's still just tiny movements, but if I'm sitting still or lying down, I can definitely feel her moving around in there.

Exercise: I am still trying to get my pulled hip flexor and abdominal muscles to heal up properly. I don't know if it is pregnancy, or something else, but I feel like this injury is taking forever to heal. It's been almost 2 weeks now. Ugh. It's definitely getting better, but slowly. The first week after I hurt it, I had to cut back severely on my cardio because walking hurt like the dickens. I still taught all my classes, and completed strength training workouts, but that was about it. Last week, I was able to add back in a little more cardio every day, plus my classes, and strength training. I walked 5 miles yesterday without too much pain, so I'm hoping we are on the up and up. :)

Cravings: Cold salads, cold salads, cold salads. I also can't get enough grapefruit and blueberries. I guess there are definitely worse things I could be craving.

Dinner on Sunday night, was compliments of Pinterest. These teriyaki glazed chicken kabobs were delicious and come to you compliments of "The Iron You." I followed the recipe exactly, and it turned out great. You definitely want to let the chicken marinade for as long as possible before cooking to lock in all of the flavor

E likes red bell peppers, so I made one skewer for him with some extra peppers. The skewers only took about 15 minutes to cook on the grill, so it was a pretty quick meal to fix.

I also whipped up some grilled carrots to go along with our chicken. Simply, skin the carrots, brush with a little bit of olive oil, and sprinkle with salt and pepper. I wrapped ours in foil and grilled them for about 18 minutes. They were almost like a dessert they were so good.

Overall, the meal came together beautifully and with little effort. We will definitely do this one again soon.

It's time for me to head in to teach my first Pilates class of the day! How are you planning on getting your sweat on today? Have you done it already?

Have a great day!
