Help Your Waistline Survive Halloween!

Howdy!!

I am writing this as I watch Game 2 of the World Series! Talk about nerve racking. I hope the Rangers and C.J. Wilson can pull it off tonight!

Reader Discount & Giveaway Extended: My very sweet friend Mallory kept trying to tell me that the link to my store wasn't working, however every time I tried it on my computer it would work for some reason. Knowing that Mallory is a very smart girl and pretty tech savvy, I had Eric try it on his computer (and his phone and my phone) and sure enough it didn't work. I don't know why it would only work on my computer?? Since no one could actually visit my shop until last night, I wanted to extend the reader discounts until next week. So all readers who visit my shop and fill out a customer profile (directions located here) will get 10% off their entire purchase!! You can also still enter the giveaway by leaving a comment on this post!

As we all know, this weekend is Halloween, which means buckets of candy are looming around every corner just begging to attach themselves to our backside. Well at least that's where it would latch on to me! Now, I don't expect you to make it through the entire weekend and not have any candy (if you can, could you please teach me how), but hopefully we can keep ourselves from doing too much damage. If we can keep our candy splurges to under 100 calories, we should be able to tame our sweet tooth and still fit into our skinny jeans on Monday. This is every girls goal in life right?? Eat chocolate and still rock skinny jeans- what more could you ask for?

Just stay calm, we're not doomed!!
Here's what we can enjoy and stay under 100 calories!
  • 3 1/3 snack size Twizlers
  • 5 Starburst Original Fruit Chews
  • 8 Dots (my little sister Emily loves these, and I'm not sure why.)
  • 13 1/3 pieces of Brach's Candy Corn
  • 28 Milk Chocolate M&M's (Is that the most exciting news you've heard all day or what?)
  • 60 Smarties
  • 1 2/3 Snack Size York Peppermint Patties
  • 2 Twix Minis (MMM Twix are my weakness!)
  • 1 1/4 Snickers Fun Size (Quote from Eric: "Why do they call those fun size? They're so small there's nothing fun about them. A fun size would be a Snickers you can't even hold in your hand")
  • 4 Three Musketeers Minis
  • 4 1/2 Tootsie Roll Midgies (the little fat ones)
Candy stats found at womenshealth.com

Now, when you reach into that candy bowl, you can choose wisely and walk away before any mega damage is done!! I hope you have a fabulous evening!!

Food for thought:
What is your favorite Halloween candy?
How do you resist devouring the entire candy bowl?

  2. I'm glad you got it working! I'll definitely be checking your shop out! I'm real excited about the twizzlers :-) my dad and I used to eat those on road trips all the time when I was younger and they remind me him, so its comforting to know I have a few without gaining a few extra inches on the tushy haha
