Fun, Far Away Places!

Tuesday, November 20, 2012

Hi Friends!

Happy Thanksgiving Week! How are you? Things are good here in the sunshine state. I've been lucky enough to be busy spreading the QiLOVE and teaching other instructors how to teach QiFORZE over the last couple of weeks. I actually got to do a workshop in San Marcos 2 weeks ago with the lovely ladies and gentlemen of Texas State!

I flew into Austin at around noon on Friday so I got to spend the whole day with my lovely little sister Emily!

Yep, she made me ride on the back of that thing. Thankfully, we were not going far and stayed on neighborhood streets. She took me to this amazing restaurant called the Snack Bar that had so many gluten-free options I didn't know what to choose!

It was so yummy, I completely forgot to take a picture when my food came out. Bad Blogger! Next, we went to check out the only completely bulk food grocery store in Texas. Everything is locally grown, and you bring in your own containers to fill up with food and take home!

It was so neat! I purchased dark chocolate covered cocoa beans, iced coffee, and apple pie spice walnuts! Yumm!!

This past weekend, I taught another QiFORZE course here in Tallahassee. We had a blast getting our "Gorilla" on (that's one of the moves in the workout and it gets stuck in your head). :)

What have you been up to lately?

Are you traveling for Thanksgiving?

The easiest most delicious breakfast or lunch ever!

Tuesday, October 30, 2012

Hi Everyone,

How was your Monday/Weekend? Good I hope! Let's start this Tuesday off with a good laugh, shall way?

It gets me every time! So this weekend was once again full of football. It was Homecoming here in Nole Nation so there were lots of festivities going on. We had an amazing time tailgating with friends and watching the Noles stomp Duke.

It was extremely clouded, which really helped shield us from the sun and heat. It's crazy to think I was wearing a tank top and shorts on Saturday because it is freezing here today!

Sunday, was full of running, studying for my upcoming QiFORZE workshop, and errands. I am on the hunt for brown flats and boots. Unfortunately with NO luck. I can never find something when I am actually looking for it! At least my 4 mile run Sunday morning got the day started out right.

This weeks lunch is one of my new favorites. These little egg baskets are so easy to make, delicious, and bursting with protein! The beautiful orange veggie next to my egg baskets is butternut squash. I can't get enough of this stuff in fall. It's so creamy and satisfying.

First, preheat the oven to 425 and line a greased cupcake tin with ham. I used two small pieces of ham in each one, but you could use just one larger piece.

Bake the ham by itself for 6 minutes. Then crack one egg in each ham basket and sprinkle with a dash of GF Cajun seasoning and low-fat cheddar cheese.

Lower oven temperature to 350 degrees. Place ham and egg baskets back in oven and bake for 10 minutes or until eggs are set. You may want to go for a little less time if you like your eggs runny. Pair with your favorite veggie and enjoy! These are so easy, I literally made them this morning while I was getting ready for work.

I'm off to work. I hope you all have a Happy Tuesday!!

You Vs The Sand Workout

Wednesday, October 3, 2012

Hi There,

What's up friends? Want to see what I'm munching on right now as I type? Carob covered almonds and decaf coffee! Mmmmm Mmmm good!

Yesterday's Sunrise Yoga class inspired me to create a sand workout that can kick your booty no equipment required. This workout will have your booty screaming and lungs burning in no time!

No access to a beach? No problem. You can do this bad boy on a volleyball court or even at a local park. The sand is just a bonus! :) Do you like doing outdoor workouts or are you more of a gym rat? I like both depending on my mood and the weather of course!

**Big announcement** I added a new page to the menu bar called QiFORZE Trainings. I told you guys awhile back that I recently became a Master Trainer for QiFORZE which is a brand new muscular strength and endurance program by Qignition! I have never experienced a class quite like it. QiFORZE utilizes innovative and functional movement patterns and amazing music to keep your body guessing and heart pumping for an entire hour long total body workout. If you want more information on QiFORZE or would like to attend a training, skip on over to the QiFORZE Trainings tab!

Have you taken a new group exercise class lately that you couldn't stop raving about? I would love to hear about it!! I definitely have exercise ADD and love trying new workout programs!

How are you getting your sweat on today?

QiFORZE Preview + A Killer Circuit

Monday, August 27, 2012

Howdy Friends!

How was your weekend and Monday? Mine was pretty dang good. E and I went to the beach on Saturday to take advantage of the beautiful weather before Hurricane Isaac took over! Luckily, it looks like we are going to miss the worst of it! Sending lots of prayers out to those still in the path of the hurricane.

A few weeks ago, I told you all about my trip to Atlanta for the QiFORZE Master Trainer Summit. It was truly an amazing experience, and I can't wait to start sharing this format with other instructors. I am rarely this excited about a new format, especially a new strength training format! It's like nothing else out there! Check out this video to see some of the choreography and what the Master Trainers had to say about their experience. This was all of our first times to experience the class. My interview starts at about minute 5:30 if you want a good laugh! :)

Pretty cool huh? If you teach group exercise and want to know how to bring QiFORZE to your club, shoot me an email at LaurenEGeorge@gmail.com! I can also help you find a QiFORZE class near you!

Ok, on to the workout of the day! I am still loving doing super intense workouts since I am short on time but still want to challenge my muscles. Here is what last Thursday's circuit looked like!

Exercises Explained:

Squat Turn Jumps On BOSU - Place your right foot on the BOSU and your left foot on the ground. Lower yourself down into a squat and then push off both feet into the air and turn 180 degrees to land with the other foot on the BOSU.

Dynamax Throw Down - Hold Dynamax ball in both hands. Start with ball overhead and throw it down as hard as you can. Grab it on the bounce, and do it again! This one is great for stress relief!

Lat Pull Downs With Tubing - Hold tubing above your head with hands about a foot apart. Pull the tubing apart straightening both arms out to the side and bringing tubing towards chest.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

How have you gotten your sweat on lately?

In health,

Lauren George

An Inspiring weekend at the QiFORZE Summit

Monday, August 13, 2012

Hi Everyone,

How was your weekend? Words can hardly begin to describe my weekend. It was amazing, exhausting, inspiring, fun, and motivating all wrapped into 3 days of growing as an instructor. I had the absolute pleasure of attending the QiFORZE Master Trainer Summit in Atlanta this past weekend, and was surrounded by some of the most brilliant minds in the fitness industry! The amazing Leigh Crews was the mastermind behind the format and the talented Ilyse Baker, Alex McLean, and Tahneetra Crosby helped bring the format to life. If that is not impressive enough, the management team also included Kike Santander, June Kahn, Linda McHugh and Petra Kolber. Are you drooling yet? I sure was! I also had the pleasure of spending the entire weekend with one of the most amazing instructors I know, Gay Gasper! I was literally in fitness Heaven!

QiFORZE is a power packed muscular strength and endurance program that seriously targets every major muscle group in the body with uniquely choreographed movement patterns. You use the natural resistance of gravity and a resistance band to challenge your body in ways you never thought possible. I was dripping with sweat by the end of the second song, and standing in a puddle by the end of the first QiChallenge, which is a 90 second high intensity interval. QiFORZE bridges the gap between pre-choreographed programming and traditional freestyle classes by providing a combination of pre-choreographed songs that are customizable for your participants and unchoreographed high intensity intervals. The intervals (aka QiChallenges) give your students an opportunity to turn off their minds and turn on their power! It is different than anything else on the market right now, and I can't wait to start teaching it. Check it out!

One of the most amazing things about QiFORZE is the out of this world music. Multi- Grammy Award winning produce Kike Santander personally crafts each song to fit perfectly with the choreography the production team creates! It really takes the class to the next level and prevents you from burning out!

I had a fantastic time learning a phenomenal new workout format, meeting new friends, and catching up with old friends. I feel so blessed to be part of the QiFORZE family!

My wonderful team leader, Ilyse Baker, who helped guide me through the weekend.

The increadible Alex McLEean and I before teach backs on Sunday.

My beautiful QiFORZE team!

My gorgeous friend Jenni from Hawaii!

I want to send a big thank you out to Kike Santander, Linda McHugh, Leigh Crews, June Kahn, Petra Kolber, Ilyse Baker, Tahneetra Crosby, Alex McLean, and everyone else involved behind the scenes at Qignition for putting on a wonderful weekend full of inspiration and education. If you have any questions about how to bring QiFORZE to your club, shoot me an email at LaurenEGeorge@gmail.com or visit their website www.qignition.com. I would love to help you experience this awesome new format. Turn It On!!

How was your weekend?

Have you tried a QiDance class yet?
