Annabelle's Nursery

Monday, June 30, 2014

Howdy Friends,

Happy Monday! Guess what? We're still pregnant over here. I was really hoping the little lady would make her arrival this weekend, but no go. I'm thinking I should just settle in for quite a long wait at this point.

We tried to stay busy this weekend to make the time go by a little bit faster. We had some friends come in and visit on Saturday. Mike, Ashley, and their son AD drove down from Fort Worth to catch up. We went for ice cream at Amy's, checked out the UT Football Stadium, and grabbed dinner and one of E and I's favorite spots. It was an absolute blast to get to catch up with them!

On Sunday, I woke up early to hit the grocery store and get in a quick workout before heading to brunch with the girls. We went to a cute little spot in North Austin called Epicerie. It looked like a cute little French bakery. We had a great time chatting and then stopped for a photo op since this is the last time we will all be together before Annabelle arrives and the 2nd to last time before baby Strub arrives!

Love those girls! After brunch, Whitney, Christy, and I headed back to Christy's place to spend a little time in her pool. It feels so nice to be in the water! It takes all the pressure off my lower back, and I feel like a normal person for a little while.

I told you last week, that Annabelle's room is finally all done!! I am absolutely in love with how it turned out and I can't wait to show it to baby girl when she gets here. Thank you again to Eric for putting every single piece of furniture together, my in-laws for gifting Annabelle some of her furniture, Kelli for making her name above the crib, the "Annabelle" picture frame, and beautiful star mobile hanging from the ceiling, and Kelley for making the decorations above her changing table. We are going to add her baby pictures on either side of the "A" above the changing table and then the room will be 100% finished.

And there you have it! Pink, pink, and more pink! But if you know me, you know I wouldn't have it any other way. E has been such a trooper about the pink overload! :)

Last, but not least, I need to announce the winner of our Pure Via Summer Fit Kit Giveaway. Drum roll please......... The winner is Alison S! Thank you to everyone who entered!

How was your weekend?

Are you a brunch fan?

Friends, Fun, and Adventures in 2012

Tuesday, January 1, 2013

Howdy!

2012 was a great year to say the least! We moved to Florida, I got an amazing new job at Florida State, we made new friends, spent time with old friends, went to lots of weddings, tons of football games, and enjoyed every minute of it! The old saying "a picture is worth a thousand words," definitely fits here. Here are a few highlights from a jam packed year!

We rang in the new year with Eric's brother Greg and his wife Meredith at the American Airlines Arena.

One of the things that I am the most proud of completing in 2012 is my Balanced Body Pilates Reformer and Apparatus Certification. It took 4 months and a lot of practice time, but it was worth every second of it!

I also had the opportunity to complete a Booty Barre Certification with Tracey Mallet. This is an absolutely fantastic certification and I have had so much fun teaching Booty Barre this year.

Champ grew a ton in 2012, but he remained his precious goofy self!

Me and two of my best girlfriends, Kelley and Daphne, took a trip to Cali to celebrate Daphne's birthday. It was probably one of the most fun weekends of my life. I love those girls!!

We had the pleasure of watching our good friends Joseph and Chelsea get married.

E had fun visiting Greg's Air Force Base!

We took a trip to Florida to find a place to live before we moved!

I hosted a baby shower for my best friend Kelli!!!

We made the big move to Florida!

I became a Master Trainer for an amazing new strength program named QiFORZE!

We had a blast at Seminole Football Games!

Me and the girls (Jenn, April, LT) tailgating before a game. I love these girls so much, and feel so blessed to have met them.

I took a trip down to Austin to visit my crazy sister!

I taught QiFORZE workshops in San Marcos, Dallas, and Tallahassee.

I visited New Orleans for the first time for the Athletic Business Conference. Me and the bopsy twins posing in front of a gigantic Christmas tree in NOLA!

I also got to catch up with old friends. Alison and I taught together in college and I miss her to pieces!

It's going to be hard to top 2012, but I have a great feeling about 2013. Check back in tomorrow for the top workouts of 2012!

Happy New Year Everyone!

I'm ready for my close up!

Howdy Friends!

How was your weekend? Mine was absolutely wonderful! I got to spend the entire weekend with some of my favorite people in the whole wide world - my A&M Rec girls! We all learned how to teach aerobics together and are now spread out all over Texas. We had our reunion this weekend and had too much fun catching up, telling old stories, and just spending time with one another. I couldn't ask for a better group of friends! I love them all!

I am so blessed to have met such amazing friends in school, and that we all still keep in touch. Sara (the gorgeous on in the top right corner) was our host for the weekend, and she went over the top to make sure we all had a great time!

A couple of weeks ago I had to turn in a headshot for a fitness project I am working on and my wonderful friend Jenn, who happens to be an amazing photographer, so graciously offered to help me out! I had never had headshots taken before, so it was an interesting experience. It's weird posing for pictures all by yourself. Jenn was amazing and took a ton of pictures for me to choose from. Here are some of my favorites.

I was super excited with how they came out, and ended up using the bottom one for the project. If you live in the DFW area, and are in need of a photographer, you should definitely check out her website. WWW.JENHUGHESPHOTOGRAPHY.COM

She does everything from weddings & senior portraits, to professional and business shoots. The best thing about Jenn is how quickly she gets everything processed and back to you!!! Thank you Jenn for the amazing pictures! :)

Well I'm pretty pooped from the weekend, so I am off to finish recovering and get ready for the week.

How was your weekend?

Have you ever had to have professional head shots done?

Happy Hump Day!

Who needs a good laugh to start their hump day off right? I do! Ok, here you go!

source

Is that not the cutest thing ever??? LOVE IT!! :)

So some of you might have seen the A to Z survey created by Janetha that has been floating around the healthy living blog world lately. I decided it was too fun not to participate in! Here it goes:

B is for breakfast today: Egg whites and gluten free toast with peanut butter and half a banana

C is for currently craving: coffee frozen yogurt (that is pretty much a constant craving)

D is for dinner tonight: a salad from Jason’s Deli (that’s my go to meal when E is out of town for work)

E is for favorite type of exercise: barre classes, Pilates, or running (Sorry, it’s a tie!)

F is for an irrational fear:  Fire! I’m absolutely terrified of fire! L

G is for gross food: Chicken Spaghetti – I think it is some kind of mental block, but I can’t stand the taste or texture!

H is for hometown: College Station, TX aka Aggieland

source

I is for something important: God, family, & friends – Really what else is there?

J is for current favorite jam: blackberry I really thought for 2 seconds it meant jam like for toast. Let me try that again…. I’m loving Descontrol by Daddy Yankee

K is for kids: none, sadly

L is for current location: Dallas, TX aka Big D

M is for the most recent way you spent money: Groceries. I went shopping at 7:00am on Sunday morning to get it out of the way before the busy day ahead. Let me tell you, it was amazing! No one was in the store. I flew through my list in no time!

N is for something you need: Time to rest. I feel like I always fill my rest times with things on my to-do list.

O is for occupation: Group Exercise Coordinator, fitness instructor, and Pilates trainer

Yep, that's what I do all day! Dress up in 80's clothes and jump around like a mad woman.
Ok, so maybe I don't dress like that every day, but I would if I could!

P is for pet peeve: When people are late.

Q is for a quote: “Life’s a dance, you learn as you go. Sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow. Don’t worry ‘bout what you don’t know. Life’s a dance, you learn as you go!” – John Michael Montgomery

R is for random fact about you: Watermelon is my all time favorite food!!

S is for favorite healthy snack: Peanut butter and banana

T is for favorite treat: Coffee Fozen Yogurt!!!! I’m drooling just thinking about it!

U is for something that makes you unique: I am peppier at 5am than I am at 5pm, and by 10pm I'm a grandmother in bed and worthless! :)

V is for favorite vegetable: Zuchinni

W is for today’s workout: Today I taught Piloxing, cycle and a core express class. I also practiced some new barre choreography! J Sweaty and happy!

X is for X-rays you’ve had: Kneecap- I broke my kneecap doing a back handspring in high school 2 days before cheerleading tryouts. I tried out on one leg, and with God’s help, still made the team! Sacrum (lower back) – I got a stress fracture from running too much while teaching a ton of high impact classes. Moral of the story – listen to your body!

Y is for yesterday’s highlight: Teaching my amazing participants at noon. My Monday Piloxing class always has a ton of energy and starts my week off right!

Z is for your time zone: Central Standard Time

Now you know me a little bit better! Can you pick one letter and tell me what the answer would be for you??

Check out this cool read: Top 10 U.S. Cities for Well-Being. Do you live in one of these? If so, tell me why you think it's so fantastic!

It's Island Time!!

Monday, August 1, 2011

Happy Monday!!

How are you this morning? I hope you had a great weekend!

I had an absolutely wonderful weekend!! E and I went down to visit my friend Sara and her boyfriend Tristan in Galveston. They moved to Galveston a couple of months ago, and I haven't seen her since February! I missed her sooooooo much. I really hate that there are 5 hours between us.

We got to Galveston around 11:30pm on Friday evening. On Saturday, we got up and headed over to The Strand for a little sightseeing and shopping. There is a place on the Stand called La Kings which is a huge old fashion candy store and ice cream shop. It was too cute, and Eric was in Heaven!

Welcome to La Kings

My amazing friend Sara!! Love you!

I love all the fun colors!!

They made the taffy right in the store! This guy kept throwing taffy across the store
at customers!

Who wants a sucker???

We do!

Eric's favorite-  Taffy!!

After Eric got his fill of candy, we headed over to Mosquito for lunch. It was a cute little cafe with delicious food. It's always good to go where the locals go for yummy food! Next on the agenda was meeting up with my old boss from A&M, DeAun. I couldn't wait to see her. We spent the entire afternoon talking about fitness, friends, and family. It was an absolute blast.

Later on that night, we headed back over to the stand to see what the night life was like. We all had one drink and decided we would have more fun just walking around and chatting. Luckily, we both had our Fit Flops on so we were ready to move!!

Fit Flops Unite!

Galveston has a big Mardi Gras party every year, and they leave some
of the decorations up year round.

These little guys were in the window of a flower shop, and I
 thought they were too cute!
We had such an amazing weekend, and I was sad to see it end. When you are on the island, it just feels like everything slows down and you can actually relax. I barely looked at my phone all weekend, which is so not like me, and just enjoyed the time with my wonderful friends! Now it's back to real life and work so I am off to finish the laundry! :) Have a great day!

Q's and A's:
What did you do this weekend?
Do you ever wish you could just slow your pace down?
