San Fran Day Three - A Trip To The Red Woods

Tuesday, April 8, 2014

Howdy Everyone!

Day three in San Francisco was just as amazing as the first two days! Yesterday, we decided to get out of the city for a little while and explore the beautiful area just over the Golden Gate Bridge.

We rented a car in the morning and headed out. You can't go to San Fran with walking the bridge! So we made a pit stop on our way out of town to walk the Golden Gate Bridge!

The view of the city from the bridge.

After we braved the bridge (it was so loud), we headed up to the Merin Headlands to see what is called "the best view of San Francisco." It totally lived up to its name!!

Next, we made a quick pit stop in Sausalito for lunch before heading to the red woods. Sausalito was the cutest little beach town looking right at San Francisco!

After lunch, we drove the winding roads to The Muir Woods!!

After a little hiking, we decided to drive along the coastal highway to check out the breathtaking views!! We happened along this tiny sleepy beach town and took a stroll along the beach. AAAHHHMAZING!

I just can't get over how pretty it is! We hit a little snag when we were walking back to the car from the beach. I was barefoot and stepped right on a bee! Ouch!!! E dug out the stinger and took good care of me. We headed back into the city and met up with one of E's old college roomates for dinner. It was so fun to get to catch up! Between hiking and all the walking around we logged over 11 miles yesterday. That's a successful day if you ask me. :)

That was day three in a but nutshell. All of these pictures were taken on my phone. I'll have a recap with better pictures once we get home and I can get them off the big camera!

In health,

Lauren

Fun, Far Away Places!

Tuesday, November 20, 2012

Hi Friends!

Happy Thanksgiving Week! How are you? Things are good here in the sunshine state. I've been lucky enough to be busy spreading the QiLOVE and teaching other instructors how to teach QiFORZE over the last couple of weeks. I actually got to do a workshop in San Marcos 2 weeks ago with the lovely ladies and gentlemen of Texas State!

I flew into Austin at around noon on Friday so I got to spend the whole day with my lovely little sister Emily!

Yep, she made me ride on the back of that thing. Thankfully, we were not going far and stayed on neighborhood streets. She took me to this amazing restaurant called the Snack Bar that had so many gluten-free options I didn't know what to choose!

It was so yummy, I completely forgot to take a picture when my food came out. Bad Blogger! Next, we went to check out the only completely bulk food grocery store in Texas. Everything is locally grown, and you bring in your own containers to fill up with food and take home!

It was so neat! I purchased dark chocolate covered cocoa beans, iced coffee, and apple pie spice walnuts! Yumm!!

This past weekend, I taught another QiFORZE course here in Tallahassee. We had a blast getting our "Gorilla" on (that's one of the moves in the workout and it gets stuck in your head). :)

What have you been up to lately?

Are you traveling for Thanksgiving?

Clean Eating and Safe Travels

Tuesday, July 19, 2011

Hello There Cute Thang!

Is it the weekend yet? Hahaha, it's just one of those weeks you know! How is your week going? I hope it's fantastic!

I mentioned in yesterday's post that my pasta salad was inspired by a recipe I found in Clean Eating magazine. I have been a fan of CleanEating.com for quite a while and recently signed up for 2 free issues of their magazine.

Let me just tell you, this was a great decision!! The magazine is full of nutrition tips, product reviews and more mouth watering recipes than you can shake a stick at. The thing that I love the most is how simple and clean (of course) their recipes are. Sure, some of the recipes call for some interesting ingredients, but a lot of them are really simple and quick to prepare. They even have tear out recipe cards in each issue! I love that! Be on the look out for some new recipes compliments of Clean Eating over the next few days! To get 2 free issues of your own, head over to their website and scroll down to the very bottom of the page! You don't have to enter your credit card information so don't worry about being automatically subscribed to the magazine, although you may want to! :)

Since July is prime traveling time, I thought a few tips to keep you healthy while you travel might be in order! This awesome infographic comes to you compliments of Thegreatist.com! Follow these tips and you will be healthy and happy when you arrive at your destination! Happy flying!
