The Nifty 50 and Tasty 20 Workout!

Tuesday, July 30, 2013

Hi Friends,

How is your Tuesday treating you so far. Mine is going pretty wonderfully. I got to sleep in until 6am today which is a total WIN in my book considering I usually have to get up at 4:30am. That extra 1.5 hours is priceless!

First up on the agenda for today was a Pilates mat class at ToddPilates. After that, I did some administrative work at the studio and then taught another class at 10:15am. My early breakfast was starting to wear off at this point so I headed over to my favorite juice spot for a smoothie!

Can't you just see the nutrition! If you live in Austin, you have to check out JuiceLand. It's amazing. Today, I opted for the GunShow. It had blueberries, banana, egg white protein, and rice milk (I subbed the water and agave for rice milk). It was delicious and the perfect pre bootcamp fuel.

Bootcamp today was a doozy. It was actually two separate workouts combined into one power packed hour. First, I had my students tackle the Nifty 50. They had to do 50 reps of each exercise listed below in any order that they wanted. They were allowed to break the 50 reps into different sets. For example, some students did 10 of each exercise for 5 rounds to get to 50 while some did 2 sets of 20 and one set of 10. (KB = kettlebell)

Once they finished the Nifty 50, it was time for the Tasty 20. For this set, they had to do 20 reps of each exercise in order and repeat the sequence until I yelled time. Most of the bootcampers got through 2 rounds of the Tasty 20. They kicked butt!

Judging by the dirty looks that were being thrown at me from every direction, this workout was pretty brutal. :) I think they secretly liked it.

I've got a little more office work to do before I head out for my last class and client of the day! I hope you all have a great day! Don't forget to make time to get sweaty! :)
